Emily Sicova, BA., J.D.

With experience in both public service and legal advocacy, Emily has cultivated a well-rounded perspective centered around her devotion to aid individuals in feeling informed, supported and empowered whilst navigating complex legal issues.

Emily began her legal career working as a student-at-law at a community legal clinic protecting and promoting tenant rights, challenging eviction notices and applications before the Landlord and Tenant Board, and supporting vulnerable community members with addressing high-stakes housing disputes.

She later served as a mediator for the Government of Ontario, assisting consumers and businesses in resolving disputes arising under the Consumer Protection Act. Here, she worked with affected parties to construct fair, collaborative, and innovative, yet practical, settlement solutions. It was within this role that she discovered a passion for amplifying consumer rights, particularly where unfair, fraudulent and unconscionable practices are involved. Her experience navigating these complex regulatory and legal frameworks, while ensuring all parties felt heard and respected, instilled her with strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.

Guided by compassion and professionalism, Emily is devoted to advancing access to justice and equitable outcomes. As a recent call to the Ontario bar, she is committed to building trust with clients and providing clarity and guidance to individuals experiencing the uncertainty often associated with navigating convoluted legal disputes. Emily detail oriented and client focused, bringing together her emotional intelligence and analytical skills to navigate every case that comes across her desk. She believes effective advocacy requires careful attention to the unique circumstances of every case.
